As the years went on Microsoft soft started creating new software and hardware for PCs in order to advance the quality of computers.  For Example in December 9,1987 Microsoft released Windows 2.0 with a desktop  icon and expanded memory, and in 1990-1994 Windows 3.0  increased virtual memory and made other adjustments such programs running faster. Windows 3.0 was the most widely used operational system yet, they sold 10 million copies in the first 2 years.  Microsoft also released the 3.0NT which was a program with a business platform that supported engineering and scientific programs.
In the 1990's he age of the internet sprung into existence.  So when Windows95 came into existence it has new multimedia features and it was the first program to have a internet plugin.  It sold at a record 7 million copies in 1 week. In addition in the summer of 1995 Microsoft came up with their first web browser internet explorer. Thus popularity grew.  During this era there mission statement was " A PC in every household and every home".  They achieved this goal thus made their products more innovative and improved them over the years.  From Windows 98 -2000 the programs became more popular and more of a necessity as the year went on. Thus Windows XP and Vista soon became of the most popular brands in the world.
